I found this image of the aftermath of forest fires on Montana while browsing the net. It is by David Nadel. I just thought it was really beautiful and kinda haunting with the perspective of the mountain and the vast white-ness.

I TOTALLY FOGOT!!!!!

This image is from TIME by Yuri Kozyrev

I find this image interesting because the colors in this photo are very minimal
and due to what the subjects are wearing it is easier to focus on their emotions.
Also, the figure on the right, the lady in sunglasses with the flashy purple/pink cell phone is very intriguing. Perhaps it's because she seems to be facing the camera directly while the others seem to be looking away. And also because we cannot read her facial expression while the others' are very visible.

Here are some more photos that I found on National Geographic and other photo blogs. They are all animals but I think they are very pretty!

Kai Z Feng Photo

This is a piece by Jason de Caires Taylor, who is amazing! He makes sculptures of people and then submerges them in water, and the way he makes them is conducive to growing artificial coral reefs and attracts marine life, providing new habitats :) check out pictures of the entire process here, it's SO interesting!: http://24flinching.com/word/featured/drowning-beautiful
Also, here is a link to some underwater photos by Chris Newbert...Scott mentioned him in class one day and his pictures are just amazing to look at! It's overwhelming to realize what crazy creatures we share the world with! http://photography.nationalgeographic.com/photography/photos/translucent-creatures.html

In the spirit of love and beauty i have posted some images that i find wonderful- I think it is important to keep a visual archive of images that you find interesting/beautiful/compelling.

By Friday post one image that you love- it doesn't have to be from a famous photographer or an image that you took- all these images were taken off a blog that i often frequent...
